Another GREAT Day

Yes, another day of great food, fun, and fellowship!

As I said last night, I was staying the night at my friend Marcy's house... well, I got up about 9am...

We hung out, chatted, etc until about 3pm.

Then we jumped on her motorcycle and rode out to meet our other friend Shonneia for a late lunch.

Once again, lots of fun!

About 5:30, I headed out back to Corona, got to Corona, ran a bunch of errands, got a few things done here at home... and now I am debating sleep...

TOO MUCH FUN!!!

Today I nannied... the kids were awesome, as always!!!

I rode bikes with one of them, played some more wii, and watched art work in the making :-)

Then, I headed home for a shower and to pack a few things then headed to LA.

I attended the BOSS graduation for West Angeles Church of God in Christ. It was great to see the celebration for the students, their trainers, and their families!

THEN- we headed to Pam and James Jacobs' house to celebrate the birthday of our BOSS Global Master Trainer. We had an ABSOLUTE blast!!!!!!!! The party got kicked off about 9:30 or 10pm... we had bomb nachos... great desserts... and even more phenomenal fellowship--- playing taboo my team kicked BUTT!!! Or planet as those who were there may say... oh if I could only give you a glimpse of the night.... WOW!!! Who says Christians can't have fun?!?!?!?! We DEFINITELY had fun!!!

Left the Jacobs' about 1:30am... then headed to Marcy's house... where she and I continued our fun and fellowship until now... goodnight all!!!

Crazy in Love

So... LOL

Today I nannied from about 7:30am-5:30pm... it was fun...

Played some wii... Mario Party.... and Just Dance 2.... I got the high score on the song "Crazy in Love." OH YEAH!!!

Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE kids???

Well in case you didn't know... I DO love kids!!!

Speaking of... here are some kids I'm "Crazy in Love" with... and MISS LIKE CRAZY!!!!

Gettin' in it

Today I went for a 2 mile jog. I hadn't gone running since at least August... and it whooped my butt!!! HOWEVER, it felt GREAT!!!

I am so ready to do it again tomorrow!!! (We'll see how motivated I am when the time gets here ;-)

I have also jumped back on my honey/cinnamon tea this week...

Universal Studios

Today I got up and productive.

Then I picked up the 13 year old I nanny and we headed to Hollywood to meet her dad and siblings at Universal Studios.

I have my nephew's Flat Stanley, so it was a great photo opportunity :-)

Monday Monday Monday

Today was low key, yet productive...

I slept late... imagine that :-)

Then I got up and got to business :-)

Got lots done....

Then tonight I went and observed in a BOSS class about 30 mins from my house just to get some new ideas and motivation for the class I head up on Fridays.

My ex teaches in that class... but I made sure to give him a heads up and ask permission to come instead of showing up and catching him off gaurd.

I then came home... and got ptorductive again...

Then I had a late night counseling session...

no, really!

A friend of mine is working on a master's degree in counseling and needed a mock counseling session... bleh...

And for the second time, I was his dummy... he owes me!

LOL... aight, well I am drinking my cinnamon and honey water... bout to read the Word and hit the pillow...

Why no SUNNY day? :-(

Well, yesterday and today showed for a lot of rain...

I prefer sunshine unless I can stay in bed and sleep...

I don't like having to be out and about in the rain...

I would love to dance in the rain thought...

ANYWHOS... I taught my Kinder-3rd grade sunday school class... i love those kids!!!

Then it was a few errands and then off to a birthday party for the 9 year old boy I babysit.

The party was great! Boys are always so funny.

Just to give you all a laugh...

At one point, the dad needed his son and said, come here. The boy said, hold on a sec. The dad said, no secs, now.

Please say the word S-E-C-S out loud...

I cracked up!

Isn't a 9 year old boy a bit young to be having that conversation??? HAHA

Anyways... after the party I came home and worked out... BLEH... I am whooped!!!

Fellowship, Food, Fun, and...

Well.... I can't think of a word that starts with F that means to learn...

So, my day... slept late...

Went to run a couple of errands....

Went to a Training meeting for the class I teach on Friday nights... it was beneficial!

I was caught off gaurd when my ex showed up :-/ Still don't know what to do with my emotions around him. Especially when he shows up out of the blue... this is the second time I've seen him since we ended things, and both times he said he wasn't going to be at the event, and then he just shows up. When he does, it is like a sucker punch of emotions.

After the training, me and my friend Marcy were going to take out our friend Shonneia for a birthday dinner... but my ex and another guys joined us... more awkwardness and messy emotions... but I loved spending time with Marcy and Shonneia!!!

The training and dinner pretty much took up my day... then I came home and have prepped my class for tomorrow's sunday school class.

FRY Day

Today was a great, but full, fast, and furious day!

I subbed in a Kindergarten class for the second day in a row. Those little ones are great, but they can wear me out!

Then I picked up 2 of the girls I babysit from school and took them home.

Then, I changed clothes, grabbed my BOSS gear, and headed for my Friday night student ministry class- BOSS.

It was a great night of BOSS, and afterwards, I am FRIED!

Full Day

I subbed in a Kinder class today.

Most of the students are young; like they were still 4 when school started in August (cut off date for birthdates is December 1st).

It wasn't a bad day, but it was definitely obvious that they are a young group!

Unfortunately, there really wasn't anything funny to share about...

sad I know!

I'll be in the same class tomorrow... maybe they will give me some humor :-)

After subbing... I came home... prepped for subbing tomorrow... prepped for the children's ministry class I have tomorrow night... and that ate up the majority of my time... now...

to bed...

Kinder, Five Guys, Bible Study, and Good Friends

Today started with me volunteering in my regular Wednesday Kindergarten class. I love the teacher and the kids- they are amazing!

Then I ran by the bank, post office, and WalMart... my regular daily errands... lol... yes, WalMart is a part of my almost daily schedule... ridiculous, I know!

After that, I met up with a couple of guys from my church at Five Guys. Five Guys is a burger place that I've heard raves about for a while. I gotta say I wasn't impressed. *sigh*

Then it was time for Bible study, followed by a phenomenal time with a good friend on Skype. Now I am chatting with another good friend on Facebook, blogging, and about to go to sleep in preparation for subbing in a Kindergarten class tomorrow!

I love kids... (just in case you didn't know)

Today I subbed for a temp specialist. I had this one boy Julio for 3 hours, and evidentally I was amazing :-)

FAIL, PASS, PASS

Well... I didn't post last night, because within 10 minutes of getting home I was... how can I put this lightly... hurling... there is no light way to put it.

Otherwise, yesterday was great... 7 boys in my k-3 Sunday school class... then a leadership meeting for church... and then I hit the road to see the awesome Dumas family! Most of the day I got to hang with the gorgeous Pastor J and the most awesome twins in the world! I also had bits of time with their amazing big brother, daddy, GiGi, Denae, and church friends.

It was a great day. But then I had a headache... followed by nausea all the way driving home... and then I made it home... but my tummy didn't settle... bleh... that was the FAIL

My day today...

I got up and at em this morning...

I got the results for my state assessment that I turned in two weeks ago... PASS

Went and got my smog check so I can get my registration renewed... PASS

Subbed in an afternoon program...

Ran some errands...

Came home, then sat for 2 hours trying to get a sub job for tomorrow... which I finally did.

I am so in the mood to stay up and continue my productivity, but I know if I did, I wouldn't get up in the morning :-/

Today wasn't exciting... I got up and got productive... went to work... then came home and continued my productivity...

Creating a New Past NOW

I am working to make better choices in relation to my health. Eating healthier... creating a sleeping pattern... getting physical exercise... etc...

So... it starts with making one better choice after another... I'm pressing

A Crunchy Day

Now that I have been challenged to write more detail... I am kind of glad I don't have a large blog following :-)

I was at Vertical Leap all day today. VL is a discipline training seminar that is life changing. I first went in September of 2009, and my life has never been the same. Now when I go, I serve as a volunteer. Soooo... at VL, when we have an attendee that perhaps has a bad attitude, there is a term that the service team uses to describe their attitude... we call it crunchy. Like, "Oh she's a little crunchy." No we don't say this to the attendees, but it is a phrase that I've become accustomed to.

So, today just felt like a crunchy day to me. Crunchy is really the only word I can think of to explain it. The teachings of the seminar were great, the attendees were great, I just had some issues with some of the service team and intrapersonal issues, like the fact that I was tired.

So... I am now hittin the pillow... very distaught about losing an hour tonight because of daylight savings... and praying for a better day tomorrow.

Busy

Well, today was a busy day... prepping for student ministry at church, prepping for the student ministry class we have on Friday nights, nannying, and then being at the BOSS class from 5:30-10pm. After that I had to run by the post office, bank, walmart, and gas station. Once I got home... working on more student ministry prep...

Now I am blogging then heading to bed, because I have to get up in less than 6 hours to go to VERTICAL LEAP. That's the seminar I've blogged about before. It is awesome, but sometimes it is physically draining... I will be there from 7:30am until at least 11pm. And it is 30 minutes from where I live. Then... daylight savings time change is this weekend, so I will LOSE an hour of sleep... then I will have student ministy Sunday morning, then I go back to the seminar from 1pm until at least 11pm again...

So... here we go...

Tasks

Today I FINISHED a teacher performance assessment (TPA) that I had to submit to the state of California for evaluation. This TPA is a requirement for me to get my teaching credentials. I have had it to work on for a while... like... a LONG while... but I finally finished it today!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!!!! I am so relieved to have it DONE!

Now, on to other things... the never ending to do list... hmmm...

I am really trying to be productive these days... like getting more taken off of my to do lists quicker than I add stuff on to it. I mean... the thought of having like a week... or even a DAY where I have no lingering to do list... THAT would be a m a z i n g!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But for now... I'll go to bed with the to do list lingering... I'm sure it will await me in the morning :-)

Well...

Today... Wednesday March 7th... I was in the kindergarten class that I volunteer in on Wednesdays. It was fun as usual! I love kids! They had an assembly today and there were 3 BMX stunt riders there and they set up ramps outside and did a show for the kids. It was really great! They taught the kids the need for education (i.e. the need for math to figure out the ramps and angles, etc), the importance of encouragement/not bullying, and the importance of helmets. While doing amazing stunts!

After that I moved stuff out of my storage unit, went to the doctor, went to a church admin meeting, and then Bible study.

To end my night, I had a great time on Skype with the wonderful Kara Blain! I am blessed to know her!!!

not much excitement

well... today I worked on my state teaching assessment... moved some things out of my storage unit... and ate way too much... the excitement of my day came from a walk with a friend... which really was exciting. She and I always have great conversations, and I really enjoy talking to her! She is a blast, and I am blessed to be getting to know her more and more.

Happy but exhausted...

It's amazing how subbing in a special ed class with 5 angels can be so fun and bring so much joy! I had such a good day. I am exhausted, but it was great.

I tried to fight the exhaustion with chocolate chip cookie dough...

Didn't really work, but it was good none the less :-)

In Loving Memory of Kodi Renee

9 years ago today Heaven received a BEAUTIFUL addition. Kodi's unexpected change of address from Earth to Heaven at the age of 27 has spurred me on to live my life with more meaning and greater understanding that life here on Earth is precious and limited. Kodi you are dearly loved and missed! I have been praying for your family throughout the day today, as I know they love and miss you dearly as well! Until we meet again...

Productive yet uneventful day

So, today I worked on completing one of my teacher performance assessments that I have to turn in to the state to get my teaching credentials. Other than that, I did laundry, had a missions and self awareness conversation with my Pastor, and ate. So today was very productive, while not all that exciting. :)

SO... I will tell you about my day yesterday... lol

Yesterday I took my car in to get worked on... $400 later... bleh...

Then I worked on preparation for a class I lead on Friday nights. This is a PHENOMENAL class. It is called BOSS the Movement, and it is a student ministry class for 7-19 year olds.

Last night went great! There is so much growth in the students, as well as in the team of trainers(there are 4 of us that teach together). Last night was only week 7 of 20, and yet so much is already sprouting! I can't wait to see what week 20 looks like!!! Here is an image I took, followed by an image taken while I was teaching :)

March 1st

This is what I posted on my Facebook page earlier today:

"Today is March 1st. I love how often God provides for fresh starts and new slates. Really He provides them every morning, but then there are some that seem more obvious than others. So among a number of other things I am trying to REPOH in my life, 13 weeks from today will be the last day of May, and in these next 13 weeks, I have 25 pounds I want to lose! That is technically less than 2 pounds a week (1.923 haha). Totally doable, but it will be WORK! Anyone wanna join me on a 3 month get active and healthy goal??? Let's hit it!"

I did fairly well at establishing new trains of thought today for the areas I want change in.
