Medea Play

Went to San Diego with one of my adopted families... my Pastor, his wife, two of their sons, and both of their sons' girlfriends.

First of all, yes, I was with 3 couples... alone... and yes at times it did suck!  At one point I was behind my pastor and his wife, and every couple was together and I said, "I'm about to grab the next good lookin man that walks by."  My Pastor said, "Yeah, then the one you were meant to be with is gonna be the next person to pass, but he is gonna think you're takin and you're gonna miss 'the one'."

We were both playin when we spoke, but dang... truth is what it is.  Don't get impatient with God's timing, because you never know how close He is with what you've been waiting for.

So, we went to San Diego in order to see the new Tyler Perry play, Medea Gets a Job.

Of course it was a blast!  I LOVE Tyler Perry and his work!

BUT- who woulda thought of all places to get a new perspective on my view of my father it would be at a Medea play?!?!?  I won't give the play away, but at one point, Medea is talking to this young adult who is angry with his elderly father who wasn't there for him.  Medea then starts asking the man questions, like...

So you're mom raised you?
(Young man)  Yes she did!
She took you to church?
Yes she did!
She worked hard to provide what you needed?
Yes she did!
You have a good job now?
Yes I do!
And you have a great wife?
Yes I do!
And great kids?
Yes I do!

After this long list of questions, Medea finally said "And yet you're mad???"

Medea continues, don't be angry.  He just taught you in reverse.  He taught you by his actions what not to do.  God knew what you needed, and He took care of it.  You may have been better off not having him in your life.

I have heard this last part about now knowing what to do and being better without my dad, but I never thought about looking at all of the great things in my life and realizing I have no reason to be angry.

Tryin to let it go and forgive on a daily basis.

Goodnight all!
